Kiehl’s Creamy Under Eye Treatment with Avocado
I love avocados, on toast, on pizza, in a smoothie and I love diy face mask! Then one day, I heard about Kiehl’s eye cream, Kiehl’s Creamy Under Eye Treatment with Avocado so I went to Bloomingdale’s and grabbed it immediately. Not to my surprise, I love this eye cream! This is a product that my skin CRAVED! I have been using this product for 1 month now and I love it so much. FYI this review is going to be completely honest! Continue reading to see how I use it and what I find so AWESOME and maybe talk about the cons too (not that there’s much bad to it. )
1. Consistency of eye cream
This formula is made of key ingredients:
- BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER / SHEA BUTTER
- PERSEA GRATISSIMA OIL / AVOCADO OIL
Unlike a lot of beauty bloggers, I don’t know too much about these ingredients. However, I do know that the ingredient in this Kiehl’s product feels very high quality and it makes me feel very wonderful. I used to be very lazy when it comes to skin care but nowadays I have to do the routine skin care every morning and night otherwise my skin feels like it’s missing something. Especially my eyes, my under eyes crave this stuff. I used to think that only the stomach and the taste buds craves but the skin craves food too. I guess that’s why the company Skinfood, Inc. sells right? I’m going to do a review for the Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Scrub soon…one of these days, it’s just that I don’t know how I feel about this one yet.
The consistency just feels like a really thick avocado smoothie or avocado cake frosting and it even looks like frosting, it’s super whipped! That might be why I like it so much, it smells too much like food and it triggers tastes buds. Another great thing about this product is that it does not leave a greasy feeling!
This Kiehl’s eye cream is perfect for the dry winter days when my eye bags feel like they’re weighting me down. Not only did I see the improvements in the eye bags but the wrinkles were less noticeable. Sometimes, I don’t even apply it in the morning because it’s just that hydrating. I don’t even have to use that much I mean it’s been 1 month now and I haven’t even made a dent in the container. I have the smaller container.
3. Perfect for sensitive skin and eyes
I cannot use a lot of skin products because I develop a lot of rashes. On top of that, the skin under my eyes are especially sensitive. I develop these white dots that I think are blisters but I not with this product. I’m also very terrible when it comes to not rubbing my eyes, so a lot of the times these products get into my eyes and it burns. BUT not with this one!!!
So the smaller size which is 0.5 fl. oz is $29.00 while the 0.95 fl. oz is $48.00. You can get the smaller size at Sephora, I saw it when I was there a few weeks ago at the mini products section. Nordstrom, Macy’s (0.5 fl. oz size only) and Bloomingdales (full and 0.5 fl. oz size) also carry this product. Of course if you are lucky enough to live to a Kiehl’s store, I bet they also carry this eye cream there. It is cheaper for the product if you get the bigger container but I got the smaller one and I think I made a good choice. I might not be able to finish the product before it goes bad if I buy the larger one. To be honest, I think the $29 is too much for my salary but it is a “worth it” product!
2. Takes longer to absorb
When I use it in the night routine, I have no problem with waiting for it to absorb. However, I have very little time in the morning to wait for it to soak in and I have got no time for that. So it’s a been of a pain.
All in all, I don’t really care to much about the negatives with this product. I really think the positives outweighs the negatives.
How to use!
When I apply Kiehl’s Creamy Under Eye Treatment with Avocado I use a cotton swab to take out a very small amount, rub it between my two pointer fingers to warm up the product and dab it slowly onto my eyes. The feeling is extremely wonderful and stress relieving. You’ll get an idea of how much to apply and how much your eyes really need as you go through the first 2-3 usage. I apply this in the morning and night. ONE CON is when applying it in the morning, I have to wait a long time for my skin to soak the product before I can apply the under eye sunscreen.
